Buoyed over the performance of Congress in the Lok Sabha polls in Maharashtra,Union Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh said on Wednesday that the atmosphere will help the party in the coming state assembly elections.
“The BJP is yet to come out of shock after the defeat in general elections in April and their leaders are engaged in internal fight, while Shiv Sena and Maharashtra Nav Nirman Sena are busy in one-upmanship game,” Deshmukh told reporters in Nagpur.
The former Maharashtra chief minister reiterated his demand that Congress should contest assembly elections on its own, without any pre-poll alliance.
The Heavy Industries minister said he would discuss with BHEL the issues about pending supply orders of turbine, boilers, etc to Maharashtra for thermal power plants.
As the state wants to get rid of load shedding by 2012,all thermal power stations needs to be equipped well before the date,he said.
“Nagpur continues to be my dream city and I will pursue all pending projects including Cargo hub for it from Delhi now,” he said.
