Former Punjab DGP K P S Gill said there is more danger to the country's security from its politicians than from Pak.

Lambasting the Centre for its alleged failure to formulate a national security policy and lack of strategic planning, former Punjab DGP K P S Gill said there is more danger to the country's security from its politicians than from Pakistan.

"There is no national security policy nor strategic planning in the country. The present government has failed in this regard," Gill said while delivering the keynote address at a seminar on 'Security of Northern Frontier and National Integration' at the Jammu University.

Charging the UPA with caring little for the country's strategic interests either in South Asia or in the global context, he said, "I tell you, the country's security faces more danger from the politicians and their ideology than from Pakistan."

"What is the UPA doing to evolve a national security policy? Nothing. Be it the problems of Maoists, naxals, Punjab violence, Karantaka communal clashes or even terror attacks in various places ... they (UPA) have done nothing to rein them in," the former supercop said.

Commenting on the recent developments in Pakistan especially the turmoil in its north-west frontier province, he said, "Pakistan is paying the price of grooming the monster of terror. it is disintegrating."

Congress cannot do anything besides SC/ST/OBC division and then playing muslim saviorBy: JP | 06-Jul-2009 Reply | Forward Congress party has least regard for Indian nation and its soverignity. Not only is congress party a patriarchy of Nehru Gandhi family, but it has not reformed itself and has only managed to divide Indians on SC St OBC Muslims=congress victory formula. The next five years will pass and nothing will get done! Terrorist will come from heaven, nation will be attacked and still no action will be required. The young scion Rahul Gandhi will be proven wrong that he cannot deliver growth that he promised and still congress will be a viable party in 2014, only because Indians are dividied by SC ST OBC Muslims. It is a sad day..for current state of affairs.
Well spokenBy: Swapan Chakravarthy | 24-Jun-2009 Reply | Forward Opinions change with time. But the fact of the matter is that our politicians are cheap stuntsmen. They neither have the capability nor the will to establish their sense of duty. So when KPS Gill lambasts the politicians it is because he has faced the same issues time and again without resolution. Well said Mr. Gill.
A SUPREME COMMENT BY GILL - THE REALITY.By: WILLIAM D'SOUZA. | 24-Jun-2009 Reply | Forward "What is the UPA doing to evolve a national security policy? Nothing. Be it the problems of Maoists, naxals, Punjab violence, Karantaka communal clashes or even terror attacks in various places ... they (UPA) have done nothing to rein them in," the former supercop said. THE ABOVE WORDS OF GILL IS 100.100% TRUE. WHAT GOVT IS DOING?
NATIONAL SECURITY POLICY AND NON INTERFERENCE OF POLITICIANS IS A MUST.By: B S GANESH, BANGALORE | 24-Jun-2009 Reply | Forward I fully agree with the words of KPS Gill. The main reason for most of the problems in the country is ansence of National Security policy. In Karnataka some cases are filed on Ministers and others who are involved in MINING SCAM. When the cases are under srutiny, Karnataka cabinet dedied to withdraw cases, due some hidden reason to protect the accused or for money transactions. Such things speak as child's play in government. B S GANESH, BANGALORE
governance deficit is a global phenomenon By: charan gill | 24-Jun-2009 Reply | Forward It may be a survival tactic from a retired civil servant.Politics is the last resort, we know well.Or it may be the resurgence of the patriotic zeal with which he(KPS Gill) helped S.Beant singh in restoring peace in Punjab in early nineties.I think his services should be employed by the present government at least at the consultancy level as he is among the most experienced and informed ones and a master of strategy making for the solution of the most complex situations. And governance deficit is a global phenomenon and the present degree of neglect in addressing major global problems seems suicidal.
