  • The Sheila Dikshit factor
With three consecutive wins in Delhi Assembly elections behind her, it seems Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit’s blessings and support have become imperative for all Congress leaders aspiring for a Lok Sabha ticket from Delhi. While old enemies Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar have decided to let bygones be bygones and are now regular visitors at 3, Motilal Nehru Marg, the latest beneficiary of her support is four-time MLA from Uttam Nagar Mukesh Sharma who is the frontrunner for the West Delhi seat. Sharma’s closest contender is four-time MLA Mahabal Mishra, who too has started paying visits to the CM. Congress insiders, however, claim that Sharma is the clear winner simply because he has Sheila Dikshit smiling over him.
