Poor show by primary students,government to conduct survey

“The workshop was held for all directors,education officers,DIET principals and block education officers.

“We have devised teaching material and representatives from Pratham will train the resource people. Then these resource people will go to their own districts and teach the teachers there,” said N K Jarag,Director,SCERT.

“On a pilot basis,100 schools from all districts in the state will be taken for this survey. This will include classes from 2 to 5. The schedule has been designed in such a way that the training of all teachers will end by December.

“Then on January 2,a pre-test will be conducted to gauge the understanding level of the students. After that from January 3 till March 30,these children will be given extra training as per the study material designed by SCERT and Pratham. Then on March 31,an exam will be held to gauge whether there has been any improvement or not. The conciliated report of the students will be made within two months,” said Ashok Bhosale,

“This will be to improve the reading writing and mathematical skills in the student. We want to make all students to attain a certain level of understanding before passing their secondary classes,” added Bhosale.
