Posco: Naveen promises ‘good’ rehab package

In a bid to inspire confidence among the people to be affected by the 12 million tonne steel project of Posco in Jagatsinghpur district,Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday said a “good rehabilitation package” would be announced soon.

Naveen,who met a 16-member delegation of pro-Posco leaders from the project site Friday evening said he would soon visit the project area. The CM on Sunday had met leaders of anti-Posco movement which led to resumption of survey works in two villages. This evening,members of Joint Coordination Committee (JCC),a pro-Posco forum,met Naveen at his office and requsted his intervention of safe return of people who were driven away from the villages of Gobindpur and Dhinkia by anti-Posco leaders.
