Top LTTE leaders, including Prabhakaran’s son, are believed to be dead by the Lankan army.

Sri Lankan special forces on Monday recovered bodies of three top LTTE leaders and believes that LTTE chief Velupillai Prabhakaran's elder son Charles Anthony is also dead.

The bodies of LTTE political head B Nadesan, LTTE peace Secretariat chief Pulidevan and another top leader Ramesh was found in war zone whereas, another body suspected to be that of Prabhakaran's son Anthony is being identified, the army said.

However, still there was no word on the fate of the outfit's supremo Prabhakaran about whom there have been lot of speculative reports in the last two days that he is also dead.

The bodies were found during the mop operations in the last LTTE foothold in the no-fire zone on Monday morning, the defence ministry said, adding the Tamil Tigers are now boxed into a 100m x 100m area, north of Vellamullivaikkal.

The development came a day after LTTE conceded its defeat on Sunday saying the decades-old battle has reached its "bitter end" and they have decided to "silence" their guns.

Nadesan, a former police constable of Sri Lanka police, was known to be the political head of the outfit.

Pulidevan was known to the head of "LTTE peace secretariat" while Ramesh was one of the most senior special military leader of the Tamil Tigers.

According to the defence sources in the battlefront, the body suspected to be that of Anthony was found after an unsuccessful and half-hearted attempt by the Tamil Tigers to evacuate their leader's son early on Monday morning.

Should Srilankan Tamils forgive India or vice versa ?By: indian | 18-May-2009 Reply | Forward The LTTE lost its support from India, rightly, when it killed Rajiv Gandhi. What arrogance !This end should have come earlier. Where is the question of Srilankan Tamils forgiving India when it is India that should 'forgive' ? Let better sense prevail to Tamils and they live peacefully with Sinhalese who too surely wish for peace now.
Overfed CharlesBy: Anmol | 18-May-2009 Reply | Forward I have seen the pictures of Charles and he seems most unlikely a Guierella as he is absolutely obese and over fed.The irony of the leaders is that they enjoy good life while starving the majority through a false sense for call of dutyBy the photographs it is evident that charles led a wonderful life while the Tamils suffered badlyHope the Indian Tamils realise this and should delink themselves from the Likes of Prabhakaran
