The CBI on Friday questioned suspended IPS officer Vipul Aggarwal and four other policemen lodged in Palanpur Sub-Jail in Banaskantha district in connection with the Tulsiram Prajapati encounter case. Aggarwal, who was Banaskantha SP at the time of the 2006 encounter,is an accused in the case.

A Danta court had recently granted CBI the permission to question Aggarwal, then Sub-Inspector Ashish Pandya and three other policemen who were with Banaskantha Special Operations Group in 2006.

CBI sources claimed Aggarwal has provided them a lot of information about the involvement of top politicians and officials from Gujarat and Rajasthan in the encounter killing of Prajapati, who was said to be a key witness to the encounter killing of gangster Sohrabuddin in 2005.
