Both Bank of India's Prakash Kelkar and BMC's Mangala Saraf were at their aggressive best while quelling the challenge of Rajesh Mudam and Pratibha Sawant in the plus 49 finals for men and women on the concluding day of the Maharashtra State Masters (Veterans) State Table Tennis Championships, hosted by P.J.Hindu Gymkhana here. Both scored an identical 3-0 wins of their rivals, in the semis as well as in the finals.
While in the women's plus 39 section, Pune's Suhasini Bakre scored an exciting 3-2 win over Anagha Joshi to clinch the title and Solapur's Nitin Toshniwal defeated his teammate Manish Rawat in a very close encounter 3-1 in the corresponding men's singlesIn the women plus 49 singles, both the top two, Sunanda Rao and Rajeswari Mhatre were packed off in the semifinals itself.
