Union Finance minister Pranab Mukherjee on Saturday criticised the Left Front in West Bengal for the “collapse” of rationing system in the state.
“In over 30 years,the ruling Front has failed to take steps to revive the rationing system which has collapsed with dealerships being returned to the government,” Mukherjee told the ‘chintan baithak’ of the Congress here.
There was even police firing in the state over collapsing of rationing system,he said.
He also asked Congress workers to inform people about steps taken by the UPA government against the price rise.
“Congress workers should inform the masses about the steps taken by the UPA government at the Centre to curb price rise,” Mukherjee,who is WBPCC president,told party workers.
