    Mukherjee is also showcasing IGNOU’s regional office set up at Sagardighi college in Raghunathgunj to appeal to young voters.

    Mukherjee, who had been a five-term Rajya Sabha MP, won his first Lok Sabha election in 2004 from Jangipur when he defeated CPM MP Abul Hasnat Khan by a margin of over 37,000 votes. Within the first year after his victory, Mukherjee cleared projects worth over Rs 2,100 crore for his constituency.
