WITH youth being the flavour of the season, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Thursday joined the chorus of those pitching for Rahul Gandhi as the Prime Minister. “We do hope... we had a Prime Minister at the age of 40, Rajiv Gandhi. Days are not far off, for Mr Rahul Gandhi may follow the footsteps of his father”, Mukherjee said.

The External Affairs Minister is the latest to join party leaders like Arjun Singh, Digvijay Singh and Veerappa Moily who have said Rahul Gandhi is the future of the party.

However, Arjun was ticked off by Congress while AICC president Sonia Gandhi had at the last Independence Day function at the party headquarters scotched speculation saying Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will unfurl the national flag at the Red Fort if the party was voted back to power.

Mukherjee was replying to a question from a delegate in the Pravasi Baharatiya Diwas on why the country did not have young leadership. The minister recalled how Omar Abdullah, 38, became the Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir.

BJP this timeBy: Indian | 25-Jan-2009 Reply | Forward That will be the end of India, when Rahul Gandhi, of the Gandhi Dynasty becomes PM. Lets support TRUE INDIAN LEADERS like ADVANI and NARENDRA MODI. NO MORE GANDHI CLAN!!!
Rahul as PMBy: Geeta | 11-Jan-2009 Reply | Forward Undoubtedly, Rahul , like his dad is a great man, but Singh is King of Economics. Congressmen please don't attempt to destablize "Manmohan Singh". Emerging Indian economy needs him more than any Advani or young Rahul. By the way, keep it up Rahul! you are doing awesome gob on public relation. Future is yours. Secondly, I take pitty on those, who criticise Sonia's Itly origin. In my opinion, Sonia has proved that she has been great daughter inlaw than Menka Gandhi. Soniya never dreamt of her of her husband joining politics. It was sad demise of Sanjav Gandhi, which brought Rajiv in the politics, so please stop yourself from going GAGA over ITLY and give your 100% to help India revive it's lost glory and become a super power
It is correct with little mistake.By: valluan | 25-Jan-2009 Reply | Forward A well balanced analyse of the current situation. But one bad thing about our PM is that he is too inclined towards the US, which will eventually destroy your ambitions of becoming super power. you know that.
