Pregnant woman,carpenter found dead

A 21-year-old woman,seven months pregnant,was found dead at her residence in Southeast Delhi on Friday. Her parents have alleged that she was murdered.

“The woman,identified as Sheetal Gupta,was found unconscious at her Sangam Vihar house by her in-laws at 7.30 am,” a police officer said. Sheetal was reportedly taken to the Majidia Hospital,where doctors declared her brought dead. “Her family has expressed suspicion. We are waiting for the post-mortem report to ascertain the cause of her death,and a case has been registered,” the officer said,adding that there was an injury mark on the back of her neck.

An SDM-level inquiry has been ordered into the matter.

In another incident,a 32-year-old man,who had gone missing last Wednesday,was found dead in Jaitpur,Southeast Delhi,on Thursday. Identifying the deceased as Rafideen,a carpenter,police said,“His body was found dead near a drain.” Police said the cause of death will be ascertained only after a post-mortem examination.
