Abhishek finds his patriotic fervour

Abhishek Bachchan is playing a historical character for the first time in Ashutosh Gowariker’s Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey and is quite excited about playing the lead role of Surjya Sen,a revolutionary who played an important role during anti-British freedom movement in Chittagong.

To get into his character’s groove, the crew used to start early every morning with the flag-hoisting and singing the national anthem that helped them to get a feel of their characters and play their parts more convincingly. Abhishek reveals that the flag-hoisting ceremony brought tears to his eyes and he respects the sacrifices made by freedom fighters for an independent India even more now. Lamenting the fact that very few Indians know about Surjya Sen,Abhishek hopes that his film will inform the masses about the teacher-turned-revolutionary. Abhishek wants people to remember Surjya Sen in the same breath as Bhagat Singh.
