  • Of the 100 buyers who have withdrawn from Prideasia, the mega-housing project by Parsvnath Developers Limited in collaboration with Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB), 75 have already received the refund.

The total amount refunded till date by the CHB (which had a 30 per cent share) is Rs 4.25 crore.

Majority of the cancellations — 44 — were for the one-bedroom dwelling units (also known as studio apartments) while 21 applications for refunds were received from buyers of two-bedroom units. Three-bedroom and four-bedroom units saw four and six withdrawals respectively.

The remaining 25 applications for refund are lying pending with the CHB. According to senior CHB officials: “We are awaiting directions from Finance Secretary Sanjay Kumar regarding the 100 per cent refund to the withdrawing applicants. The moment that is received, the refund process will be initiated.”

The remaining 40 buyers, meanwhile, are also lining up at the CHB office asking for refunds. As per the clause, the forfeit amount of the applicants cancelling the bookings is five per cent of the total price of the unit.
