Principal, clerk held for taking bribe

    The principal of a private degree college and a clerk were arrested for allegedly taking hefty sum for admission in BEd course in Gorakhpur on Friday.

    The Additional SP (City) Ramesh said a student of Indira Gandhi Girls’ Degree College in Cantonment area had lodged a complaint with Commissioner PK Mohanty alleging that principal Ramesh Singh and manager Anil Rai were collecting Rs 50,000 from each candidate seeking admission, while the actual fee for the BEd course was Rs 27,000.
