Two days after a scuffle between police and organisers of popstar Enrique Iglesias' concert at Amanora Town Centre in Hadapsar, police on Friday ordered an internal inquiry into the matter.
Organisers claimed that ACP V T Pawar was trying to facilitate entry of some of his guests without passes and entered into an argument when he was refused to do so.
The organisers said on Wednesday around 8.30 pm Pawar tried to sneak in some of his guests without passes or wrist bands. He had already been given several complimentary passes prior to the event. The organisers said police resorted to lathi charge after the argument, injuring at least three persons in the incident.
DCP Manoj Patil said, "ACP Prakash Gharge will probe the matter. I will get the report in next 48 hours. I have also received a report stating the sequence of events from the police station. If needed, action will be taken after the probe is over."
Police had earlier said they used force after some people entered the audience arena without checking, which resulted in an argument between organisers and police.
