  • The CPI(M) on Thursday said investigations are on to ascertain the identities of five half-burnt and mutilated bodies found buried in Khejuri, near Nandigram. “Investigations are on to identify the bodies”, CPI (M) politburo member Sitaram Yechury told reporters. When asked that there were allegations that the victims were Trinamool Congress activists, Yechury said: “What else they (the Trinamool) can say... and on who else can they point their fingers.” He said the media has been showing “images of CPI(M) members and sympathisers who have become victims in the Nandigram violence and saying they belong to other parties and the CPI(M) is behind this.”
