After a hike in VAT and multiple taxes, now the state government has imposed Rs 800 as processing fee for filing online return with the Excise and Taxation Department, and this amount has to be deposited annually. Though the annual returns are filed in March, the processing fee has to be deposited in the month of October itself. Members of United Cycles Parts and Manufacturers Association have stated that it is a very high amount as the Income Tax Department charges only Rs 30 as processing fee to file I-T return. They have asked the government to give some relief to industry as the processing fee is too high.
