Prof says never hid he was gay

Aligarh Muslim University on Wednesday issued a chargesheet to professor S R Siras,suspended for allegedly having sex with another man in his quarters,asking him to reply to the charges within 10 days.

If the reply satisfies the university,the matter will be closed,failing which an inquiry committee will be set up, said a press statement by the university public relations officer. The university further clarifies that it was not a party to any alleged sting operation….

Speaking to The Indian Express,Siras said he was targeted by a colleague. A professor had told me that he would not let me remain in the Chairpersons position for long. Barely a week later,this happened, said Siras,adding that he was not filmed having sex. I never hid the fact that I was gay,but was never overt about it either.
