Property worth Rs 5 cr attached by police in Hazratganj

    The Lucknow police on Saturday attached property worth Rs 5 crore belonging to two brothers, Mridul Yadav and Yogesh Yadav, in Hazratganj area.

    The decade-old multi-storey hostel had been constructed on land designated as a garbage dumpyard by the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC). The building is owned by Mridul and Yogesh against whom the police had slapped charges under the Gangsters Act last year. The building houses 35 rooms and nearly two-dozen inmates were reportedly lodged in the building when the police initiated action on Saturday.

    ASP (East) Harish Kumar said, “The property was attached under provisions of the Gangsters Act.”

    The Gosainganj police, meanwhile, attached four properties worth Rs 30 lakh in Arjunganj area. The property is owned by one Radheshyam alia Krishnanand Yadav, who has also been booked under the Gangsters Act. The police seized papers of four plots with one worth an estimated Rs 22.23 lakh and others valued at Rs 7.5 lakh. Over 18 cases of theft and dacoity are pending against Radhesyam in Lucknow, said police.
