Slain officer Hemant Karkare's wife finally breaks her silence over the terror attacks.

Breaking her silence over the Mumbai attacks, Kavita Karkare, wife of Maharashtra ATS chief Hemant Karkare who was killed fighting the terrorists, on Monday said she was proud of her husband's sacrifice.

"I feel proud of my husband's sacrifice but we have paid hard price for it. It is very painful because I am 50 plus and at this age I really needed my husband," she said.

Kavita, whose two daughters are abroad and her 17-year-old son is pursuing studies "quite independently", told NDTV that she regretted the decision of her husband to join the Anti-Terrorism Squad.

"I strongly regret that. When he took up the ATS job, I knew from his nature and uprightness that he will go in front and fight. It is a very risky job. That time, I used to tell him to apply for a UN job," she said.

Kavita said she was initially angry after the Mumbai terror attacks, "but now I think I am overcoming the anger. Because this anger and violence will not help to solve the problem. We should come together and do something constructive".

She said the ATS should have good weapons and good coordination to tackle such kind of terror attacks.

Karkare's was murdered by Mossad and L K AdvaniBy: JK | 27-Mar-2009 Reply | Forward We r really sorry for the g8 loss.I strongly believe,as did serve with Sir Karkare. He n his team was Murdered ,what I strongly believe, for Malegan Blasts investigation , and all this Kasab plot is Mossad war game,he was killed on the special orders of some high politicians who were involved in the conspiracy of Bombing and Col of our Army.We feel ashamed today, justice should prevail in our country and L K Advani and Mossad should b interrogated for his murder,we will get all the clues from the file he had made,if not disappeared. These powers want hindu and muslims within the country to fight with each other, destabalize India and make it as it was 1000 years back. Karkare was a bold, daring, honest, courageous officer of our force and RAW. Who would never take bribe,he was not for sale and would always take side of truth and justice and always serach for the hidden truth. A true Indian. Jews are actually behind all this satged drama and shootings in the hotel, kill 2 birds with one stone.

martyrBy: rks | 08-Jan-2009 Reply | Forward first of all my condolences to the family and if we see practical side karkare was heading ATS when this happened and ATS did not knew about the plan its very sad that does not reflect any BRILLIANCE on ATS part next thing to notice is dont know why kavita is saying that she regrets her husband joining ATS when even a martyr sepoies widow says she is proud of her husbands sacrifice .is it just that she wanted to enjoy the previlages of IPS officers and did not want to share any risks of the job when she says she regret the day he joined ATS .i think IPS officers should be leading the operations instead of sitting in offices in addition to all this dont forget salaskar and kamte who were known for there courage before they died and i cant see any brilliance in karkers carer accept he was heading the dept which was responsible to keep mumbai safe and i think if he would have been alive he would have been the first officer to be sacked for negligence of duties
KARKARE'S SACRIFICEBy: N.V.Sankaran | 07-Jan-2009 Reply | Forward Mr. Hemant karkare did not die fighting the terrorists, but was shot dead when he was proceding to the place of action, unlike Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan or Mr. Thukaram Rambole. Yet, it was very unfortunate. The coverage he got from the media was not because of any supreme sacrifice, but because he was responsible for finding "Hindu Terrorists". Unfortunately, his death does not clear the doubt that he was acting under pressure from somebody in relation to the Malegaon investigation. According to some earlier reports, he had complained that he was under great pressure. That pressure could very well have been from the UPA government since some of their cabinet ministers had demanded a ban on the Hindu organizations as a pre-condition for re-imposing the ban on SIMI.
Karkare,s sacrificeBy: danny panther | 30-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward Mr Sankaran u dont have to be from scotland yard to know who benefitted from him as dead and who killed him ,its was all planned by the new hindutva gangs who operate openly and our filthy media does,nt acts according to our friends down in US and israel Txs
Hemant karkareBy: Ashwin Panemangalore | 06-Jan-2009 Reply | Forward May your husband a true Maharashtrian be documented in the annals of history not for the way he was killed but for the way he worked selflessly honestlyy and with a forthrightness which will survive the lesser minions who now flaunt in the Mumbai political scenario
