PSEB told speed up connections

  • The fifth meeting under the Punjab Industrial Facilitation Act - 2005 was held today afternoon in which the pending issues of industrial connections by various departments was discussed.

    Deputy commissioner Vikas Garg, who chaired the meeting, directed all the concerned heads of departments to dispose of pending applications positively within time schedule prescribed under the said Act.

    It is learnt that PSEB has not released the electricity connections to about 12 industries within time schedule and the cases are pending from six months to 1 years. The DC directed board to release the connections soon.

    During the meeting, the points raised by industrial associations such as deemed assessment, VAT refund, electricity and water supply bills, setting up of new focal points, registration fees of industrial plots on allotment rates, and transfer of ownership of industrial plots and poor infrastructure of industrial Area-C was discussed.
