Meanwhile, the accused Gurinder Singh, who had manage to flee from the campus yesterday, was arrested and a case under Sections 323, 308, 506, 34 of the IPC was registered at the Sector-11 police station. A complaint was filed by Jagdeep’s father Parkash Chander Verma against Gurinder, Prabhjot Singh and Sukhdev Singh who were present when Jagdeep was attacked outside the department.

Defending the security arrangements at the university campus Sobti said, “The students did not bring any weapon from outside the campus but used the shear for cutting grass.”
