The Syndicate meeting of the Panjab University (PU), scheduled for January 27, will witness discussion on issue pertaining to nomination of certain members to the Board of Studies of various department.
The Syndics will also deliberate on the matter of extending the date of PhD thesis submission and will take a call on the formation committees to be formed for periodic inspections of all the colleges affiliated to PU. Once these committees will be formed then these would have to submit the inspection reports in a stipulated time frame.
Moreover, deliberations will also be made on an information where UGC has extended the date of refresher courses meant for teachers to December 31, 2013. The meeting would also decide on the eligibility criteria of candidates applying for the posts of professors and assistant professors.
The Syndicate will decide whether those students having aggregate marks 60 per cent would be allowed to take improvement examination in the said course. Furthermore, the meeting would also make appointments to the UMC committee and will also decide the case of four students caught by the UMC last year.
