Sri Ram Sene has now set its sight on Goa, vowing to agitate against pub culture in that state.

Undeterred by the widespread criticism following its attack on a Mangalore pub, right wing group Sri Ram Sene has now set its sight on Goa, vowing to agitate against pub culture in that state.

Challenging Goa Home Minister Ravi Naik, who had declared that the group would not be allowed to set up its unit, Sene chief Pramod Muthalik on Wednesday said he along with his volunteers would enter the coastal state to protest the pub culture existing in Goa.

"We will agitate and create awareness against pub culture in Goa since this culture is spreading to other parts of the country," he said.

Sene activists had barged into a pub at Mangalore on January 24 and attacked women and others in an act of moral policing against pub culture, triggering protests from women bodies including some which launched 'pink chaddi' campaign.

Muthalik also questioned the Mangalore district administration's decision to ban his entry, alleging that "those involved in murdering Hindu leaders and workers were moving freely with no action being taken against them".

He demanded that the state government book these culprits instead of taking action against those "using their democratic rights".

Muthalik said Sri Ram Sene will agitate on the issue and stage dharnas across the state on March 23.

India Inc. marches ahead!By: Jayadevan | 18-Oct-2009 Reply | Forward Another Indian enterprise grows! May I join the entire nation in wishing these entrepreneurs all the very best in Goa and in all their future expansion programmes? Many such outfits have come up and vanished within a couple of weeks. Muthalik and Co. have proved that they have staying power. This is the most important factor for success in any business. I only wish he could make the outfit more professionally managed, because we are witnessing the disintegration of a family-run business in Mumbai just because the Thackerays did not believe in professional management. Even Dhirubhai's empire is breaking up, though his sons are second to no one in Indian business skills. Beware the pitfalls! He will find no shortage of skilled labour in Goa, even though the stupid cops have gone and arrested some prime candidates just because they eliminated some women. Competition is mainly from the upstart political families, which I am sure, will not cause any real problems.
