  • Clueless South Delhi police were keeping an eye on late-night pubs and bars near the area Soumya Vishwanathan was shot dead in Vasant Kunj.

According to a source, Delhi Police sleuths in civil clothes are paying visits to late night bars and are monitoring the activities of the people.

“We are trying to find any lead from the bars because we suspect some rogue local elements might be behind the incident,” police sources said.

Sources added they are closely monitoring the activities of visitors to late night bars and are scrutinising the ones who possess weapons.

Soumya Vishwanathan was found dead in her Zen car on September 29 at Nelson Mandela Marg.

Till now, at least three witnesses have approached the police in connection with the case, however, their narration of events and what they saw has not helped in making a breakthrough.

A senior police officer said, “As it is a blind case we are trying to explore every possible measure. We have deputed men during late-night bars in Vasant Kunj and adjoining areas.”
