Pune blast: Mobile pieces strengthen remote control theory

Investigations into the Pune bomb blast have picked up with the Maharashtra ATS along with the sleuths of the National Investigation Agency being able to identify the Indian Mujahideen module behind the German Bakery Carnage.

While government sources in Delhi are tight-lipped at the line of investigation,the Union Home Ministry has been informed about a possible breakthrough in the case in the next 48 hours at the highest levels. At the same time,the Centre has taken the Lashkar-e-Toiba Al Alami call,claiming responsibility for the Pune bombing,to a correspondent in Islamabad seriously and have asked the security agencies to identify its antecedents.

It is learnt that the ATS is honing into I-M chief Riyaz Bhatkal and bomb maker Subhan Qureshi aka Tauqeer as possible culprits behind the Pune attack though there is no technical data as of now to support this claim. The Home Ministry,on its part,is keeping its fingers crossed whether the prime suspects would be nailed even as there is mounting pressure on the intelligence agencies to pre-empt another attack before the Foreign Secretary level talks.
