  • After finding a place in the Union Budget, Panjab University has been sanctioned another special grant of Rs 5 crore by the Punjab government. During the Assembly session on Friday, Punjab Finance Minister Manpreet Badal announced that the funds were granted on the request of Vice-Chancellor Professor R C Sobti.

Talking to Newsline, Professor Sobti said: “It is a real honour that our request has been acknowledged by the Punjab Government and I hope this continues in the future too. The money would be used to arrange infrastructure for vocational courses run by the university.” On July 6, the Central government had announced a grant of Rs 50 crore for the Panjab University.
