Punjab SHO suspended for molestation attempt on NRI woman

Police police suspended a SHO in Moga for allegedly attempting to outrage the modesty of a NRI woman in a local hotel.

Police suspended a Station House Officer (SHO) in Moga for allegedly attempting to outrage the modesty of a NRI woman in a local hotel last week.

District police chief Ashok Baath placed local NRI police station SHO Bhupinder Singh under suspension for allegedly attempting to outrage the modesty of a NRI woman and stealing some of her important documents,police said in Moga.

Police also registered a case against the SHO and a detailed inquiry had been ordered in the incident.

According to the FIR,the NRI woman had some dispute with her second husband as he had allegedly cheated her about over two years back to get her a Canadian citizenship.

The NRI woman few years after her marriage came to know that her husband was already married in Punjab. She lodged a complaint in this regard with the NRI police station in Moga district.

Last week when she came to Moga to inquire about the complaint made by her,the SHO invited her to a local hotel and later allegedly attempted to outrage her modesty and also took away some of her important documents.
