Maintaining their supremacy in the competition, Punjabi University fencers bagged three gold medals in men's team event while they grabbed one gold and two silver medals in the women's event in the 5th All India Inter-University Fencing Championship held in Patiala.
Playing in the men's foil, sabre team and epee team events, Punjabi University fencers claimed the top honour to win gold.
Meanwhile the women fencers pocketed two silver medals in the Epee and Sabre team events. They won gold in the Foil team event. The Panjab University team from Chandigarh managed to win silver in the men's Foil team event and also a bronze in the women's Foil team event.

Men Foil Team: Punjabi University (Gold), Jammu University and Panjab University Chandigarh (Silver) , Osmania University, Hyderabad (Bronze)
Men Epee Team: Punjabi University (Gold), B.M.University, Kerala University (Silver), Jammu University (Bronze).
Women Epee Team: Kannur University (Gold), Punjabi University (Silver), Anna University and Manipur University (Bronze).
Women Sabre Team: Kannur University (Gold), Punjabi University (Silver)
Women Foil Team: Punjabi University (Gold), Kannur University (Silver), Anna University and Panjab University Chandigarh (Bronze).
