Hindu outfit leader killed, protest erupts in Ambedkar Nagar
Unidentified miscreants shot dead a leader of Hindu Yuva Vahini Ram in Ambedkar Nagar's Aliganj area on Sunday late evening. Babu Gupta (35) was district president of the outfit. He was on way to his house on a motorcycle when miscreants attacked him at Tanda Kasba. Angry by the incident, locals staged a protest and blocked the road. They also pelted stones on police party, which rushed to the place soon after coming to know about the incident. Protesters forced the police party to leave the spot and set ablaze a police vehicle and some shops in the area. Later, additional force was rushed to the spot. Superintendent of Police, Ambedkar Nagar, D P Srivastava, said the situation was under control. Hindu Yuva Vahini is an outfit founded by Yogi Adityanath, who is an MP from Gorakhpur.
