Yeddyurappa’s aide Shobha quits in Karnataka

BANGALORE: Karnataka Panchayat Raj Minister Shobha Karandlaje, close to Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, resigned Monday under pressure from rebels. Yeddyurappa accepted her resignation immediately and forwarded it to the Governor. The CM’s detractors have accused Karandlaje, 45, of “interfering” with the functioning of other ministries.

ISI ingress in terror groups: Musharraf

WASHINGTON: Former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf has told CNN that the ISI “always” has “ingress” in every terrorist group in Pakistan, and it uses these contacts for its “own advantage”. “Always, in every group, there is an ingress of the ISI. And that is the efficiency, the effectiveness of the ISI. You must have ingress, so that you can influence all organisations,” he said.

Manu Sharma parole within law: Dikshit

NEW DELHI: Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit said that her recommendation of parole for Jessica Lall murder convict Manu Sharma was within “legal purview.” “It has been done after taking suggestions from everybody,” Dikshit said.
