Radia is questioned,Raja is next

The CBI questioned corporate lobbyist Niira Radia for almost three hours.

The CBI questioned corporate lobbyist Niira Radia for almost three hours at her Chhattarpur farmhouse in Delhi this morning in connection with the 2G spectrum scam. The agency had earlier raided two of her houses and her office,and seized a laptop and several computers.

Sources said Radia was questioned about her links with the telecom companies which had been awarded spectrum. She allegedly referred the companies concerned to officials accused in the scam.

On Thursday,the CBI is expected to question former telecom minister A Raja. According to sources,Radia may be questioned a second time after that.

The CBI team that reached Radias Akash Ganga farmhouse at around 10 am reportedly sought details of the money she made during the scam,her role in the dates for award of contracts being brought forward,and her links with officials.

Yesterday,the CBI had questioned former TRAI chief Pradeep Baijal in the case at the headquarters.

In a statement,Radias firm,Vaishnavi Corporate Communications,said: We have extended all cooperation to the authorities and will continue to do so in the ongoing investigations.

Earlier,the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had also grilled Radia on allegations of money laundering.

Radia hit the spotlight after her tapped phone conversations with influential people including industrialists,politicians and journalists became public.
