  • The strains of ragas and the tinkling of ghungroos will float in the pre-winter air as a festival of Indian classical music and dance comes to town. It is part of the centenary celebrations of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. The inaugural day will feature Partho Das paying his tribute to Ustad Ali Akbar Khan in a sitar recital. It will be followed by an Odissi performance by Madhavi Mudgal. Day two will begin with a performance by sitar maestro Debu Choudhuri after which Rajan-Sajan Mishra (above, in picture) will perform. Bharatnatayam dancer Leela Samson will perform on day three and will be followed by a recital by Ashwini Bhide. The festival begins at 6 pm at FICCI auditorium on November 6.
