Rahman reworks on ‘Jai Ho’ to make it a political campaign song
Congress has officially acquired the rights to use the A R Rahman song 'Jai Ho' for their election campaign.
Elections are drawing close,and the battle for votes has certainly heated up. Every year political figures keep turning to the famous filmi folk to lend support to their campaign. However,this time,the Films-Politics connection has gone to a new level altogether.
With the recent sweep at the Oscars and the final rise to fame by India’s Beethoven – A.R. Rahman,the song Jai Ho from Slumdog Millionaire has become a global hit. And just recently,Congress has officially acquired the rights to use the song for their election campaign.
All we can say is,films always help garner publicity,even for our politicians.
