Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi is learnt to have fractured his right leg during an exercise session a few days ago,which has rendered him immobile for at least a few weeks. He is believed to have been advised medical rest. In fact,Rahul,was absent from Parliament on Budget Day because he is in a leg cast following an X-ray on Sunday. Sources said that,initially,he chose to bear the pain and,as a result,the injury possibly aggravated. Rahuls accident comes after a hectic trip across UP,Maharashtra and the North-East. He had plans to go to Sikkim but could not do so because of inclement weather. He was,in fact,slated for more travel in March but the injury is set to impact his schedule. While details about the nature of his injury were not known,sources said,it was serious enough for the doctor to put the entire leg in a cast and advise him complete medical rest. Incidentally,brisk walking has been Rahuls preferred way of moving around in villages rather than addressing gatherings.
