Rahul rallies into main draw

Taking advantage of his fine serve,Rahul Verma booked his berth in the main draw with an 8-3 win over Ramanjot Singh in the second qualifying round in the boys’ U-12 category on the opening day of the AITA Talent Series Tennis Tournament which started at Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association and Lake Sports Complex. In another match in the same round,Neeraj Yashpaul got a walkover from Saurabh Singhara. It was also easy going for Kabir Manrai ended the challenge of Anmol Kamboj with a 8-1 win while Leonardo Pamei got the walkover from Manoneet Singh.

In the first qualifying round in the same category,Yuvraj Singh ended the challenge of Manoneet Singh in the a narrow 8-7 (7). In another match in the same category,Rahul Verma scored an easy 8-1 win over Shreyas Chopra while Gaurav Seth got a walkover from Arnav Alok. It was also easy going for Mahip Uppal as he ended the challenge of Ritik Abrol with a 8-0 win. In another match in the same category,Neeraj Yashpual scored an 8-2 win over Jagjit Singh to pass the first hurdle in the tournament while Suarabh Parashar ended the challenge of Chiraz Singh with a 8-2 win. It was also easy going for Kemp O’Brien as he scored an 8-0 win over Saurabh Bhatia while in another match in the same category,Dhruv Sabharwal scored a 8-0 win over Anmol Goel. In another match of the day,Kabir Singh scored an 8-1 win over Daksh Marwah while Aniket Khosla ended the challenge of Asav Kumar with a 8-3 win. In the last match in the same category,Shivam ended the challenge of Amitesh Juneja with an 8-3 win. In the girls U-16 category,Shreya Kalia of Himachal Pradesh got a walkover from Shrishti Danda of Haryana. In another match in the same category,Abhilasha Mudgil of Chandigarh ended the challenge of Ismeet Kaur of Maharashtra with an 8-2 win. It was also easy going for Simran Kapur of Chandigarh as she ended the challenge of Sukriti Thakur with an 8-2 win. In another match of the day,Gulmehar ended the challenge of Shefali Sharma with a an 8-1 win. In the boys’ U-16 qualifying first round,Kawalpreet Singh ended the challenge of Rishabh Khanna with an 8-4 win. In another match of the day,Barun Singh Gill ended the challenge of Parichay with an 8-7 (4) win while in another match of the day,Mohit Bhardwaj ended the challenge of Chandan Agnihotri with an 8-2 win.
