  • J-K police are learnt to have raided the office and house of a Baramulla resident in connection with the October 11 blast at Dargah Ajmer Sharif. This was after Rajasthan Police informed their J-K counterparts that a Kashmiri youth and his driver were rounded up at Ajmer Sharif after the blast.

Identifying the youth as Ghulam Nabi Shahban of Baramulla and his driver as Surjit Singh, sources said the former was running an NGO called Society for Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes, with its head office at Jammu’s Janipura. Police also questioned his landlord, Noor Hussain, who is the village lambardar. Senior police officers said they searched the house of Shahban in Rajouri. Searches were conducted at the NGO’s head office in Jammu as well. Police said they did not find anything hinting at Shahban’s links with militants. But police are yet to give him a clean chit.
