Railway staff of Rajdhani to be rewarded: Mamata

The Railway staff on board the New Delhi-bound Rajdhani Express,which was temporarily seized by armed Maoist-backed tribals in West Bengal,would be rewarded for handling the situation patiently,Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee said today.

“As a mark of solidarity we will give a collective cash award to the railway staff for handling the challenging situation without losing their cool,” Banerjee told PTI from Delhi.

The train was seized by tribals in West Midnapore district yesterday but was freed by security forces after a seven-and-a-half hour hostage drama.
