Railway Zones

* Eastern Railway published the Eastern Zone timetable for first time in 2004.

* Headquarters of East Central Railway is at Hajipur.

* Old Delhi station falls under jurisdiction of both Delhi as well as Bikaner division of Northern Railway.

* Konkan Railways is headquartered at Belapur CBD.

* Both Central Railway and Western Railway have their headquarters in Mumbai.

* Both Eastern Railway and South Eastern Railway have their headquarters in Kolkata.

* The highest number of divisions in any Zone is in South Central Railway (six)

* While Nagpur station falls under Central Railway,the narrow gauge lines at Nagpur fall under South East Central Railway.

* Headquarters of the two regions of Konkan Railway are at Ratnagiri and Karwar.

* Central Railway was formed on November 5,1951 by merging Nizam’s state railway,Scindia and Dholpur railways.
