Rajbir Singh takes over as PCB president

  • Brig Rajbir Singh took charge as president, Pune Cantonment Board (PCB), on Monday. He succeeds Brig R J Sharma who has been transferred to Bihar. PCB chief executive officer (CEO) Dr D K Malik received the new board president. The new president, who is also now the Pune Sub Area Commander, will take oath during the next board meeting or in a specially convened meeting.

    Singh said all the elected members of the board and the staff should work together as a team towards improving the cantonment. Board member Shailesh Bidkar pointed out that development work in the PCB were ‘disturbed by the hasty transfer of former CEO S K Sardana followed by former board president Brig R J Sharma.’ PCB Vice President Prasad Kedari expressed hope that the new president would help in amicably solving issues of the cantonment residents. PCB member Karan Makwani said, “I hope the new chiefs will undertake actual development as compared to the previous administration.” The new PCB president took a cantonment tour along with Malik, executive engineer K V Shirodkar and nominated member Col M V Patricks.
