Before resigning,56-year-old Raje accused the leadership of humiliating her and said the party lacked democracy.

“Power belongs to the Janta (people) and parivar (family). I will continue to fight for your rights and fulfil all your expectations,” she told party activists outside her residence. In an apparent reference to the BJP,Raje said “meri doli is ghar mein aaee thi,ab arthi is ghar se jayegi.”

“Your faith, belief, confidence and love is priceless. I will take Rajasthan to the height of a developed state,” she said sharing the platform with some 20 MLAs.

“In politics, happiness and sadness both exist. Defeats and successes are inevitable. With your support,I will continue to work for development of the state.” MLAs Rajendra Singh Rathore and Gyan Deo Ahuja, suspended by the BJP in the wake of Raje’s resignation row, addressed the gathering as party workers chanted slogans in praise of the former Chief Minister.
