    Meena plus Gurjjar

The Sangh is trying to put an end to the open confrontation between the Meena and Gurjjar communities over the inclusion of the latter in the Scheduled Tribes category in Rajasthan. “The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh in Rajasthan is quietly making relentless efforts to bring the two communities together... It was felt that the Sangh must do something to check the widening rift between the two communities and work to bring these communities closer. The Sangh drew a detailed programme to organise the meetings of local prominent persons of both the communities to create an atmosphere of harmony and brotherhood... In the months of July and August it organised at least two dozen meets of Meenas and Gurjjars, which were attended by the local Gurjjar leaders. They felt that when politics is dividing the society on such issues, the RSS is the only organisation that is working to keep the communities together, as they have been living for centuries.”
