The MRA Marg police have arrested a 30-year-old resident doctor of St George Hospital on charges of raping a 22-year-old MBBS student over the past few months. The victim said in her complaint that the doctor had raped her on several occasions by blackmailing her with her obscene pictures.
The police arrested Dr Rahul Samarpal Singh Deshwal (30) on Tuesday. The charges booked against him include criminal intimidation, sedating the victim and harming her with the intent to commit an offence and recording obscene images.
"We have registered a case of rape against Deshwal. We have sealed his room and have seized his laptop, cellphone and pen drive," said senior inspector Sanjeev Kokil.
