A specially trained squad of guinea pigs is despatched to stop a diabolical billionaire from taking over the world. That doesn’t sound very interesting, new or intimidating, does it? I mean, what will they think of next?
However, G-Force surprisingly isn’t all that bad. If the plot (again involving machines with an evil other side) is a sinker, what keeps G-Force afloat is that the animals aren’t exceedingly cute nor the dialogue exceedingly long. Yeatman keeps it simple, straight and fast-paced, and you end up feeling nice that someone thought of making a film on rodents, including moles, mice, hamsters and ferrets. And having Rockwell, Cage, Favreau and Cruz — yes, vintage Penelope Cruz —voicing them.
Can you think of that happening again any time soon?
