Former UP chief minister Kalyan Singh, during whose tenure Babri Masjid was demolished in 1992, on Thursday expressed his willingness to reply to the questions regarding his role during the demolition. He also demanded that the Liberhan Commission report be tabled in Parliament for debate.
“The government should table the report at the earliest along with the ATR,” the former BJP leader told reporters. “We are ready for a debate... I will reply to each every point raised in the report,” he said. Singh also denied that the Commission delayed its report because of him. “I had given my testimonies two years back... Earlier, the panel was calling me an accused. I said I will go there only as a witness and not an accused.”
