A real estate broker and his friend were arrested Friday for allegedly raping a 17-year-old girl after drugging her.
Samta Nagar Police said the victim used to stay in Virar with mother and siblings. However, after their illegal house was demolished by BMC, the family began looking for a cheap rental accomodation and met the broker.
"The girl claimed in her complaint the broker called her to check out a couple of houses in Kandivali on Thursday, when her family was in Karnataka. She said they were joined by his friend on the way. The three had dinner at a restaurant, where her soft drink was spiked. When she regained consciousness, she was alone on Western Express Highway," said a police officer.
Senior inspector Nana Kamble said the victim was subjected to medical tests and the accused arrested Friday evening.
