In a gruesome incident,a real estate agent from Aslali area in the city was knocked down by car and then stabbed to death in the early hours of Saturday by a group of seven people in Khokhra locality,where he had gone to meet a friend.

The police have arrested four of them while the rest are absconding.

According to Amraiwadi police,Yafisuddin Sheikh (36) was standing near Khokhra Balbhavan building with his friend when the suspects knocked him down with their Santro car.

As Sheikh fell down,the assailants armed with swords and knives came out and stabbed him several times. He died on the spot,police said.

DCP (Crime) Himanshu Shukla said there was an old rivalry between the victim and the assailants. Some of them were bootleggers and were arrested earlier too for various offences. We are hunting for the absconding, he said. The police have registered a case of murder.
