L K Advani asked senior BJP leaders to refrain from airing criticism in public.

With senior BJP party leaders openly engaging in blame each other for Lok Sabha poll defeat, L K Advani asked them to refrain from airing criticism in public but said the party should not be found wanting in honest introspection which is different from finger-pointing.

"We should not be found wanting in honest introspection. But introspection is different from finger-pointing," Advani said in his concluding remarks at the BJP national executive meeting here.

Seeking to assure partymen that there was an "internal mechanism" in the party to air grievances, he said adding however that they "should not air their critical views in public".

Advani said the party's stand on Hindutva should not be interpreted as championing the cause of only one religion. Quoting RSS ideologue Balasaheb Deoras, he said BJP did not support the concept of a theocratic state.

In an apparent attempt to distance himself from Varun Gandhi's hate-speech, Advani favoured the line taken by BJP leaders Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Shahnawaz Hussain who had contended that Varun's speech had cost the party dear in the elections.

"At our office-bearers meeting two days back, two eminent colleagues of ours affirmed their faith in Hindutva but cautioned against any narrow, bigoted, anti-Muslim interpretation being put on it," he said.

Vinasha Kale Vipareetha BuddhiBy: subbarao | 22-Jun-2009 Reply | Forward Dear Sir: Many things that are going wrong in our country. The press should enlighten the public about the ways country is getting ruined and pillaged by the polititians causing harm to India. Instead of focussing on unnessary news items like what Advani is going to fool the public as head of BJP, the press must focus how the government spoiling our rivers, forests and natural resources and how it is failing misarably to provide safety and security to public on the roads and destroying the country in the name of economic growth . Our country is getting pillaged by the foreigners, businessmen both at home and from abroad in the name of foreign direct investment like never before. When our country itself is getting ruined what is there for Advani or Manmohan Singh to show they are capable of solving the ills of the nation. The press must highlight how the politicinas are abusing their power. What to do about it. How to achieve population control and what public should do about it etc.,
What is their Hindutva ?By: Raja Hari | 22-Jun-2009 Reply | Forward What is all about Hindutva of BJP is affirming the high caste Hindus ruling in India in the name of religion by kiiling inocent minorities. For this they will do what ever they want by the presence of government support with thier Gunta Sangs.
BJP must overcome from situationBy: Vinod C. Dixit | 22-Jun-2009 Reply | Forward The story clearly shows that the BJP party will have to reinvent themselves and modernize or perish forever. The problem is that there are a lot of angry old men in the BJP spewing hatred and envy all the time. BJP can come back to power provided they position themselves as a responsible centrist party. The party will have to factor in the prevailing mood among the people to come up with a convincing argument. If BJP wants a future, it has to work out its game plan for 2014 right now.
