Refresher course for teachers concludes at Punjabi University

  • “Refresher courses help update the knowledge of participating teachers owing to their extensive interaction with resource persons of eminence. This helps in improving teaching skills and quality of imparting instruction to students, which will help in bettering the overall education system in the country,” said Jaspal Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Punjabi University, Patiala.

    He was presiding over the conclusion of the maiden three-week long UGC refresher course for Punjabi teachers from across the country, conducted by the newly established Academic Staff College (ASC), at the university. A total of 23 teachers participated in the course which started on June 16. The Vice-Chancellor also distributed certificates and study material to the teachers having successfully completing the course.

    Speaking on the occasion, noted Punjabi scholar Sutinder Singh Noor stressed upon the need of teachers reading good quality literature. N K Dogra, Director of the Academic Staff College, Baldev Singh Cheema, coordinator of the course and Satish Kumar Verma, a professor of Punjabi and Director, Youth Welfare, also spoke on the occasion.
